Thanksgiving at Sugarloaf Alpaca Co

We have a lot to be thankful for this year and our excitement continues to grow as our dreams are becoming a reality.  Our new Alpaca Shoppe is now open, featuring Home Grown in Maryland Yarn with a large variety of colors and weights.  We also have patterns and ideas for trendy products made from alpaca fiber as well as traditional favorites, perfect for holiday crafting and giving.

A complete selection of clothing made from alpaca yarn is also available for those who appreciate the unrivalled softness and warmth of alpaca fiber without the work.  Luxurious fiber, cherished by the ancient Incan royalty, is now available and we invite you to come and “feel” the quality for yourself.
Our premie "little bit" is getting bigger and stronger every day and it's so rewarding to see him playing in the nursery field with the other babies.  We didn't think he was going to make it as he couldn't walk or nurse in the beginning.  When we let him out into the field, he would faint if he was too hot or too cold and we thought we'd lost him a couple of times.

Kevin and Nancy nurse him with a bottle both morning and evening and he also receives yoghurt daily.  "Little Bit" (he has no name yet) unwittingly became our advertising star when we were looking for an angle to publisize our new shoppe.  As he was easy to catch - he didn't move much - it was easy to scoop him up and pose him for a photo.  I felt a bit guilty in the beginning, he seemed to be having such a rough life already, but it seems he enjoys his newfound stardom and seemed upset when I chose his pen mate for a photoshoot last week.

More on "Little Bit" in our next post and stay tuned for the antics of his pen mate "Prima Donna"...
